“Cometh the hour, cometh the Man”, an idiom literally tailor made for Mr. Vinod Tawde as he surged past most of his colleagues and competition to win a seat as the member of the legislative council for his second successive term. This feat becomes all the more recognized when one notices the fact that this seat for the MLC was contested in an open house and the voting members were not just personnel from his own party. Such a victory especially in an arena where there are no permanent friends or foes shows everybody that when you spread goodness, good comes back to you.

When you meet this charismatic leader, you see a humble person devoted to his work. His passion to learn relentlessly and his ability to grasp the gravity and value of every situation along with the aplomb he carries along as a shadow, have witnessed him to be one of the most captivating orators that time has seen. There are many who thank Mr Tawde for helping them thrive, but very few who know the true extent of the influence he has had in the lives of the people of the Mumbai, Thane and Konkan region.

Mr. Vinod Tawde was born in the famous “Girangaon” area (Mill Worker Area) and can be called a ‘true’ native of the Konkan. His active involvement in social activities in school clearly shows his inclination towards social service at a young age. The fact that he actively led the Student Movement viz. The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and then his appointment as a National General Secretary of ABVP further reiterates this point. The reason for his involvement with students and the fact that today he’s a true technocrat dates back to the time when he accomplished his degree of B.E in Electronics. It was in these years, 1985 – 1995, that Mr. Vinod played a significant role in Student’s Elections. That was his first big step. And since then he has not stopped climbing up. His next step up were the innumerable feathers in his cap for the commendable work that he had shown across various fields. One such noticeable feather is his contribution as a Member of Fact Finding Mission in Kashmir, especially when Kashmir was the most sensitive area.

He also received many pats on his back when he worked as a full-time worker for BJP. Apart from being an Election in-charge of BJP for North Maharashtra region (Nasik, Ahmednagar, Dhule & Jalgaon), he received accolades for being a remarkable Organizer for BJP Maha Adhiveshan that was attended by 1.65 lakhs BJP workers. As a BJP worker, he surged ahead by acquiring many positions like the General Secretary of BJP Maharashtra Pradesh, President of BJP Mumbai Pradesh, the BJP All India National Executive Council Member and the Conveyor of Co-ordination Committee of BJP for 12th and 13th Loksabha Election . Then when he became the youngest President of the Mumbai Metropolitan Unit all eyes were on him.

He also stole the limelight by his exemplary work as the Chief Organizer for Parivartan Yatra and the Sangharsha Yatra lead by Hon. Shri. Gopinathji Munde and as the leader for the Delegation of Young Indian Political Leaders to study the USA and European Community Countries Political System. He has also been a Member of Legislative Council, Maharashtra and lead the party successfully in Brihan Mumbai Corporation Election in 2002.

But the biggest feather in his cap is for his selfless work for Mumbaikars and for the city as a whole. Mr.Vinod Tawde was one of the key person’s in getting the MUTP Project sanctioned. This project is a very important factor for the infrastructural development of Mumbai. He lead the delegation of Mumbai Ministers for Mumbai based Central Cabinet Development Project (MUTP) to meet Prime Minister Hon. Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji and thus played a pivotal role to ensure that every Mumbaikar has a comfortable life. In step with the needs of modern business, Mr. Vinod has carried out several activities like Study Tours, Finance Guidance, Training, Agricultural Expertise, Turn Key Basis Projects, and Workshops for Farmers and Youth of Konkan.

A lot more can be written about him. But in a nutshell, it’s his firm belief in sharing with society his rewards and understanding that has earned him the hallmark of trust.
