India is a country driven by agriculture and its byproducts. Majority
of its population survive on farming and cattle breeding. Even though
the country has been bestowed with the bounty of nature, lack of
knowledge to make optimum use of its resources result in below average
production in terms of quality and quantity. This adversely affects
the quality of life of the inhabitants. Thus to improve the understanding
of the resources and provide know-how for its adequate and efficient
use, we have started with the Konkan Vikas Pratishthan for the farmers
and inhabitants of the Konkan Belt.
We believe in the axiom “if you give a man a fish, you’ll
fill his stomach for one day, but if you teach him how to fish,
you feed him for his life.” Thus taking the teaching from
this phrase, our endeavor towards the konkan region is to train
and to provide the elements that will build an infrastructure ensuring
the welfare of the konkan region.
The Konkan Vikas Prathisthan carries out various activities and
events and operates various organizations under this one banner.
Some of them are as follows:
The above events, organizations and publications have one goal in
common, the well being and welfare of the people in the Konkan region.
Cumulatively, the Konkan Vikas Pratishtan undertakes the initiative
to provide larger avenues and markets for the finished crop of the
Konkan region. Thus, the Konkan Vikas Pratishthan makes an attempt
to assist the lay man in the Konkan region at every link in the
chain so as to ensure his survival, progress and development.
